Description1967 was the last year for the C2 Corvette (1963 - 1967). The front fender louvers were changed to a five slat design. Above the louvers, the fender emblems were now gone, and so was the Sting Ray badge on the hood. The front nose crossed-flags emblem was changed and was smaller and vertically compressed. The crest on the rear fuel-filler door was new for this year. At the back, a new rectangular back-up light was positioned above the rear license plate. Full-wheel hubcaps were no longer available and were replaced by smaller center caps on the standard steel wheels. The parking brake lever was moved to the center console, and the grab bar was removed from the passenger side of the dash. The egg-crate pattern grill was the same as last year, and so was the standard hood. Vettes with the 427 cu in big block engines got a new hood. The optional aluminum wheels no longer had a knock-off hub due to new safety regulations. 1967 was the first year of the legendary L88 427 engine. It was rated at only 430 horsepower, but its real output was reportedly 560 hp. Only 20 L88 1967 Corvettes were sold. 1967 Corvette Key Differences1967 was the only year for the five-slat fender louvers. It was also the only year for the rectangular back-up light mounted above the rear license plate. Similar YearsC2 Corvettes were quite similar from 1963 to 1967 except for the split-window coupe of 1963. Trim, emblems, and front fender louvers vary from year to year. | |
